an introduction

As in the old adage, “Everything must have a beginning.”  So too, does a Blog.   Amazingly enough, this is the beginning of mine.  It’s no, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness..”* because this is not meant to be a great work of literature but only a place for me to put down my rambling thoughts and criticisms about things and ideas that interest me.

What are those things, you may ask?

Mostly books, the Young Adult Kind, the ones aimed at the teenage mindset, probably because there is a part of my psyche that just never wants to grow up, like Peter Pan.  The pages that are sprinkled with supernatural fluff, like Vampires and Werewolves, Faeries and Trolls are the pages that like to speak to me.  A cover of a book that has a pair of glowing eyes on it, or a set of lace edged delicate wings always catches my eye at the Library or bookstore.
There is a chance that I may throw in a similar themed review of a Fantasy/Sci-Fi movie in there somewhere, especially if it is based on a book.  Just so that you are aware!  But, hey- this is my blog, you know?  I’m allowed!  :)

On to who I am.  I’m nobody famous, I don’t have a degree in anything.  I’m probably not at all close to being witty, but what or who I am has meaning, at least to me.  I am a mixture of beliefs and reasonings, the result of being raised by two different people and serving as a living sculpture of the teachers that have taught and molded my mind in ways that older and wiser scholars of life do to young, moldable minds, like mine once was and hopefully still is.

If you want the cold, hard facts of my existence though, here it is.  My name is easy enough- Stacy.  I am 36 years old as of this day, plus a few days.  I was born in the year of the Rooster according to the Chinese astrology, in Western Astrology I am considered a Scorpio-Sagittarius Cusp since I’m right on the edge of the two signs.  I am a lover of almost all things Fantasy, with a smattering of Sci-Fi mixed in there.  I have three littles boys who turned my life into one big episode of "My Three Sons", without the black and white. I've been married for more than 5 years and with my husband for more than 10.

So, that’s me, in a small nutshell, probably a Pistachio shell- I like those.  Salty and delicious.  I hope you enjoy my musings and wanderings, and even my reviews.  I’ll be signing off from my post now, leaving you with this:

“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.”*
