My Rating:(★★★★) The Elena books of the Women of the Otherworld series by Kelley Armstrong are by far my favorite. If I were to rank them, I think they would go as follows by main character: Elena, Paige, Eve, Jaime and then Hope. I haven’t read the ones that have Savannah as the main character so I really cannot rank those.
Barring the slight surprise that I had in the first book of this series because of the use of the “F” word and the pretty graphic sex scenes, especially for the fact that they are set in first person so it’s, “I did this”, and “I did that.” I love these books!
I think that Kelley Armstrong has a great inner character voice and all of her characters are well fleshed out, even Hope is a good character though she is nowhere near my favorite. This book isn’t as violent as the first one, in my opinion, with a lot of the plot during her stay at the compound when she is kidnapped. We are introduced to a lot of new characters, especially Paige Winterbourne, the witch who is the main characters of the next two books, Dime Store Magic and Industrial Magic.
I always recommend Kelley Armstrong books to people who like the paranormal genre. I have yet to read her books that are in the Young Adult section, but I am sure I will get to them eventually. So, if you haven’t picked up one of her books, do so the next time you’re at the library or the bookstore, I doubt that you will be disappointed.
